Eliminating World Hunger...
CROP is Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty! CROP WALKS are community fund-raising events organized towards the elimination of hunger -- whether it's around the block, or around the world.

The 20 CROP WALKS organized in Colorado communities in the fall of 2006 and spring of 2007 raised nearly $212,000! From this, locally-based agencies that fight hunger received over $53,000.

How pervasive is hunger? Take a moment to consider the following statistics:

In Colorado:
  • One in five families lives in poverty. 1

    In the United States:
  • 35 million people suffer food insecurity.2
  • 11 million people are chronically hungry. 2

    In Developing Nations:
  • 828 million people are hungry. 3
  • 16 thousand childern under the age of 5 die each day from hunger-related causes. 4

    In the World:
  • 1.3 billion people live in poverty, with incomes equivalent to less than $1US per day. 5
